Nonpareil almond sapling is one of the premium almond varieties, most preferred worldwide, producing large-grained and high quality fruits. This variety is one of the almond varieties that receive the highest price in the market and provides profitable production opportunities for producers. It produces large-grained, high quality and delicious fruits.
Climate and Soil Requirements
Nonpareil almond sapling gives successful results in temperate climate conditions. Its cold resistance is at medium level and can withstand up to -12°C. In terms of soil requirements, it prefers deep, permeable, calcareous soils. It shows the best development in soils with pH value between 7.0-8.5.
Planting and Care
The most suitable time for Nonpareil almond sapling planting is autumn and early spring months. Planting distance is recommended as 6x6 meters or 7x7 meters. The planting hole should be opened at least 50x50x50 cm in size. Regular irrigation and fertilization are very important for premium quality. Pruning should be done in winter months.
Harvest and Yield
Nonpareil almond sapling starts to bear fruit within 3-4 years after planting. It takes 7-9 years to reach full yield. Harvest time is usually August month.
