Butte almond sapling is an almond variety producing large-grained and high quality fruits, especially used as a pollinator and with high commercial value. This variety provides yield increase when planted together with other almond varieties thanks to its pollinator feature. It produces large-grained, high quality and delicious fruits. It can be used both as a pollinator and as a main variety.
Climate and Soil Requirements
Butte almond sapling gives successful results in temperate climate conditions. Its cold resistance is at good level and can withstand up to -15°C. In terms of soil requirements, it prefers deep, well-drained, calcareous soils. It shows the best development in soils with pH value between 7.0-8.5.
Planting and Care
The most suitable time for planting Butte almond sapling is autumn and early spring months. If it will be used as a pollinator, it should be planted together with the main variety. Planting distance is recommended as 6x6 meters or 7x7 meters. The planting hole should be opened at least 50x50x50 cm in size. Regular irrigation and fertilization should be done. Pruning should be done in winter months.
Harvest and Yield
