Planting Time
The most suitable planting time is autumn (October-November) or early spring (March-April) months. Soil temperature between 10-15°C is ideal.
Soil Preparation
Walnut saplings grow best in deep, well-drained soils with pH value between 6.5-7.5. It is recommended to have soil analysis done before planting.
Planting Technique
The sapling hole should be at least 60x60x60 cm in size. Organic fertilizer and soil mixture should be added to the bottom of the hole. The sapling should be planted so that the root collar is at soil level.
First Year Care
Regular irrigation in the first year is very important. Deep irrigation should be done 2-3 times a week. Also, weed control and pruning when necessary should be done.
